Description Description Carex testacea is native to New Zealand and is a tufted, evergreen perennial with narrow arching leaves. During summer it has green-olive leaves which go red during the winter months, supplying interests all year round, growing to between 40-60cm producing brown insignificant flowers and is great for supplying movement in a garden. Carex testacea grows best in a sheltered position on free draining soil and full sun but it can tolerate partial shade.
