Description Hydrangea arborescens Candybelle Winegum is a dwarf smooth hydrangea with huge panicles of domed, magenta-pink mopheads with strong stems and bright green foliage. Plants will reach up to 40 inches tall and 36 inches wide. Requires moist, well-drained soil. Great for cold climate gardeners! Use in the cottage or woodland garden, as a specimen, low hedge and in containers. Fantastic in the bouquet both fresh and dried. Smooth hydrangea is native to eastern North America and is among the hardiest in the genus. Attracts butterflies. Foliage turns yellow in fall. Plants bloom on new wood so plants can be trimmed back to the ground in winter. Often listed as zone 4 but probably hardy to zone 3. Pollinator attractor. Cultivar name: ‘Grhyar2008’.
