Description Here’s one for a hot sunny location with poor, dry soil! Antennaria carpatica, commonly known as pussytoes, is a tough, cold hardy ground cover growing 3-6 inches tall with a 12-18 inch spread forming beautiful mounds or mats of silver-green foliage with short stems supporting fuzzy, white flowers that look like feline toes. Requires well-drained, lean, gritty soil. A great easy-care ground cover and accent with texture and form for the alpine and rock garden, on rock walls, and between pavers. Cut or mow off flower stems after blooming. A great ground cover for underplanting spring bulbs like botanical tulips, crocus, and dwarf daffodils. Attracts pollinators including native bees. Plants can be larval hosts for certain butterflies. Deer resistant.
