Description Baptisia ‘Vanilla Cream II’ is an improved version of its previous self with the same compact, rounded habit while blooming earlier with longer lasting flowers. The dark charcoal stems are well-branched ensuring second and third flushes of creamy vanilla flowers on stems up to 18 inches above the foliage. Attractive dark seed pods develop after flowering and deepen with age well into fall. The Decadence Series of Baptisia are noted for their desirable flower colours and shorter, more compact habit. False indigo are like perennial lupins. They are long-lived and will adapt to a wide range of soils from dry to marginally wet to salty but dislike being moved once established. They will grow into a vase-shaped anchor plant with the weight and presence of a shrub. Use in the border as a specimen, focal point or mass plant in larger gardens.
