Description Agapanthus Blackjack is an evergreen lily-of-the-Nile with intensely dark royal purple to purple-black flowers from almost black flower buds. The flower heads are rounded and very full with their trumpet-shaped blooms atop semi-dwarf, sturdy stems dramatically displayed above the mid green, strap-like foliage through summer. Lily-of-the-Nile are gorgeous, subtropical-looking, long-blooming plants. They thrives in full sun and fertile, moist, well-drained soil. Awesome in the perennial border, grown in swaths, and in containers (where many gardeners find Agapanthus easier to bloom). A great cut flower. Mulch each winter with fallen leaves or protect above freezing in its pot. Hummingbird and bee attractor. Deer resistant. Cultivar name: ‘Dwaghyb02’.
