Dim Dip is a pointless and confusing piece of UK vehicle lighting legislation from the 80’s, Dim dip is when you turn the side lights on with the ignition and the headlamps turn on but glow dimly. So, you would have off, side lights, dim dip, dip then main, yep, 4 intensities of headlamps, totally pointless but thankfully after having a few conversations with MOT testers the DipDip system is no longer a legal requirement nor tested at the MOT. This switch can be used in the place of the Dim Dip headlamp switch, the important terminals are in the right place but they are missing the extra terminals for Dim Dip, obviously that will disable the Dim Dip system, so what! Good riddance!
