Description ‘Chocolate Shogun’ has some of the darkest foliage of any Astilbe. The chocolate burgundy leaves emerge in spring and keep this rich colouration throughout the season. In summer it produces plume-like, slightly pendulous flower stalks covered in pink flowers. It can grow in full sun conditions as long as the soil remains moist.
